Disney Lorcana: Whispers in the Well

Whispers in the Well is the 10th main set of Disney Lorcana, released in November 2025. It shifts the tone of Lorcana toward mystery, investigation, eerie magic, and supernatural encounters. The story takes players into the Inkwell Caverns, where strange phenomena and mysterious “Whispers” have appeared.

Story and theme

The central idea is essentially “solve the mystery.” Illumineers and their glimmers investigate clues hidden beneath Lorcana while trying to understand where the mysterious Whispers came from.

The set has a darker, slightly spooky atmosphere, but it still balances that with Disney's usual humor and adventure. Detective characters, supernatural figures, villains, and mysterious versions of familiar characters all fit into the investigation theme.

Major Disney additions

Some of the most notable characters and properties featured include:

• 🏰 Gargoyles — Goliath, Demona, Elisa Maza, Lexington, and other characters make their Lorcana debut.

• 🐰 Zootopia — Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde take on detective roles.

• 🏹 The Black Cauldron — characters from the 1985 Disney film enter Lorcana for the first time.

• 🎃 The Legend of Sleepy Hollow — the Headless Horseman, Ichabod Crane, Katrina Van Tassel, and Brom Bones appear.

• 🦆 DuckTales and other returning Disney properties add more characters to the mystery-filled set.

New gameplay concept: Whispers

The set introduces a new classification called Whispers. These are unusual, incomplete glimmers that were apparently summoned from torn or damaged Lorebook pages.

Whispers use the new Boost mechanic. By paying ink and placing the top card of your deck facedown beneath a Whisper, you can activate or strengthen special abilities. This gives the set a distinctive gameplay identity based around building up mysterious characters and deciding when to invest resources in them.
